Lydia Moyer: Bio

Lydia Moyer makes experimental videos that are shown nationally and internationally at festivals and art galleries. Most recently, her work was part of a screening at the Reykjavik Art Museum in Iceland. She has been awarded a film and video fellowship from the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts in Richmond for 2009-10 and is on leave from the University of Virginia where she teaches new media in the art department. This video loop is an attempt to capture the solitary magic of a snowy day. The landscape remains just visible behind an ice skater who disappears into and then reappears from a cloud of white lights hovering in the cold air.
