Let There Be Light PVCC Piedmont Virginia Community College art Charlottesville winter solstice exhibit show

This solar light-powered system converts the energy of the sun into useable chemical energy in the form of high quality, edible protein filaments. The system absorbs and stores solar energy during the long summer days. During the dark, cold winter months the system emits light as it repeatedly goes through a cycle of generating protein from light. This art installation is a collaboration that has come out of The Science & Art Project.
