William Bennett is a Charlottesville sculptor whose works include large environmental stone carvings, laminated stone constructions, machine sculptures, performance based parade works, fire sculptures, and amulet-sized objects. Many of his sculptures are interactive and invite viewer participation. Flight toward space will be featured in Miss Expanding Universe III, his sculpture for Let There Be Light 2014. In last year’s exhibition, he partnered with Joe Schepps to present Byron’s Telescope in the Akashic Field. He has taught sculpture at UVA for 35 years.
